Why we built Zmienka

Customers no longer ask only Google. They type “which hair salon in Austin would you recommend” into ChatGPT or Gemini and get three to five names. If your business isn't in that answer, you often never learn that a customer was looking.

When we started testing this with businesses we work with, two things surprised us. AI often names businesses that don't have the best website but are listed in directories, on portals and in forums, which is where AI gets its information. And the same question asked twice in a row gives a different selection. A single test question therefore tells you nothing. We needed a measurement you can repeat and compare, and that is how Zmienka started.

How we measure

• We ask like a customer. From your website we work out your line of business and your city, then ask AI the questions people actually ask. Your business name is not in the question, so we don't steer the answer.
• Every question three times. Answers change, so the result is not “yes” or “no” but something like “named in 2 of 3 answers”.
• Every result carries a date and the name of the AI. So far we measure Gemini from Google with web search. An answer through the developer interface can differ from what you see in the app, where the AI knows your location and history. That is why we don't mix different AI and always state where a result comes from.
• We show the sources. For every answer you can see which pages the AI drew on. This is the most useful part of the report, because it is where something can actually be changed.
• We state only what we saw. What can be verified is that the AI named you. That it “recommends you nowhere” cannot be verified, so we never write it. We write exactly which answers, and on which date, you were not among the businesses named.

What we don't promise

We don't promise a spot in AI answers or the first place in Google. Nobody can honestly promise that, because the AI decides what it answers, not us. What we can promise is work and measurement: we show where AI looks, what to add in those places and on your website, and after the changes we measure again in exactly the same way.

What we do with your data

For the test, a website address is enough. We ask for your email only when you want the full report, and we use it only for that. The questions go to Gemini from Google, and your email and name are not part of them. Details are in the privacy policy.
